"A Haven of Rest for the People of God"

Wayne and Jacquolyn Warren are the proprietors of the Anna Ruth Christian Retreat.  The retreat's main focus is to make available a place, free of charge, for pastors to "come apart and rest awhile" just as Jesus told His apostles to do in the scriptures, as found in Mark 6:31.  The homes will also host small numbers of youth groups and other retreats for a nominal fee.

The retreat is located at 39 Minnow Lane, Enfield, NC 27823 and adjoins to Scotfield Country Club.  The setting overlooks a 20-acre pond and golf course.  Nearby recreation includes fishing, hunting, and wildlife watching in addition to golfing.  The grounds are shared by two homes.  It is named to honor the previous owner, Anna Ruth Adams, a neighbor and friend of the Warrens, who died in 2005.

Ministry Objectives

• First and foremost, to provide a quiet, peaceful place for pastors and their wives to escape and be spiritually and emotionally revived.  It is to be free of charge.
• A place for small groups of children and teenagers to visit with a Spiritual emphasis on Bible and prayer, helping them to develop a personal relationship with God.
• To teach Christian etiqutte and leadership skills to youth and adults, helping them to become more pleasing to God.
• Learning to appreciate the beauty of God's created nature through beautiful sunrises, of which not two are the same, and a variety of birds that only God could create.
